Shelter Attendant
A shelter attendant will greet guests and complete the nightly check in process and work to provide a safe, clean environment while assisting and supporting guests.
Job Duties:

Conduct initial screening & intake process for guests.

Ensure the safety and security of guests, volunteers, visitors, and staff.

Conduct personal property inspections at intake.

Provide tour and general information for new guests.

Understand and effectively respond to guest needs.

Maintain guest files, logs, and manage data in accordance with program requirements.

Work collaboratively with volunteers and donors.
-
Assist with nightly cleaning duties of the facility: laundry duties, sweeping, mopping, bathrooms, and upkeep on the grounds around the shelter.

Lifting, bending, twisting, and reaching above your head required.

Display compassion and empathy while interacting with guests. Listen to guest needs and respond appropriately.

Communicate with local agencies to provide for the needs of the guests.

Communicate concerns and issues to shelter manager.

Benefits:
MN ESST - Employees will accrue one hour of earned sick and safe time for every 30 hours they work, up to at least 48 hours in a year, with a maximum of accrual of 80 hours.
MN ESST - Leads can carry over up to 48 hours of remaining time into the new year. On January 1, Leads will have 80 hours of ESST deposited. Leads will accrue vacation according to the handbook. Six hours paid vacation on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day and July 4th, 20% employee discount at Common Goods
Location: Warming Shelter, In Person
Position Reports to: Warming Shelter Manager
Direct reports: None
Compensation:
Lead-$20/hour, 38-40 hours a week
Shelter Attendant-$17/hour (awake), $11.13/hour (asleep), 25 hours a week
Hours of Operation: 6:45 p.m.- 8:00 a.m.

Retail Associate

Available during Common Goods business hours: Monday–Saturday, 9 AM–6 PM.

Retail and Point of Sale experience is preferred, but we’re happy to train the right candidate!
Compensation:

Pay starts at $13.25 per hour, based on experience.
